The acting managing director of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency, Nurudeen Rafindadi at a meeting with Japanese officials
said the equipment will reduce the time spent on road repairs in places where
it is deployed.
Federal roads in Nigeria make up about 80% of the
entire road network. Repairing bad portions on the roads can be time consuming
and most times results in gridlocks. Deployment of equipment’s like the road
stabilizer will make road repair faster. The Japanese government as part of
efforts to strengthen relations is to provide Nigeria with some of
the equipment for free.
The Nigerian government requested the Japanese
team to include a training programe for FERMA and provide a plan for
maintenance of the machines
The road stabilizer machine will be
brought into Nigeria once all documentation is completed by the government of
japan and Nigeria. Two highways, one each in the north and south have been
identified to test the equipment on arrival
