OLEH—CHAIRMAN of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Isoko North Local Government Area, Delta State, Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has told candidates of All Progressives Congress, APC, in the just concluded council polls in the state to admit that they lost the election and stop blaming their defeat on rigging.
APC & PDP
He said it was unjustifiable for APC candidates to accuse PDP of rigging the election when they knew they could not even win in their own units let alone their wards. Speaking at his Otor-Igho country home, when he played host to the leadership of the PDP in his ward to celebrate the victory of the party at council polls, Ogorugba said the party in the ward and Isoko North will be dedicated in mobilizing total support for Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and all candidates of the party in the 2019 general election.
He
thanked the PDP faithful for their massive support for the party, saying, “With
this overwhelming victory, it is obvious that there is no other party in the
state aside PDP. I, therefore, charge you all to work harder and make it a top
priority to ensure victory for PDP in the forth coming general election.”
Congratulating
the Chairman of Isoko North council, Mr. Emmanuel Egbabor and the
councillors-elect on their victory at the polls, he said the PDP candidates won
the election in a free and fair contest.
Also speaking at the ceremony, a leader of the
party in the Ward, Sir Robert Ighosewe noted that “As a community, we have not
fared badly under the PDP hence our total support for the party.”
